Some times known as shoestring/bootleg necktie or a Cowboy tie. Often worn with a collared shirt but not always. Although the neckwear’s actual origin is a mystery. One fella, Victor Cedarstaff, claims he is the creator: Back in the late 1940s, his hat flew off while he was riding his horse; so as not to lose his hatband, he simply slung it around his neck, and an iconic accessory was born.

from the Dogtown Rider (surf skate culture) Collection:

This collection is called "Dogtown" after the American West Coast skate and surf culture born in the Los Angeles, Venice Beach area. It may have been seen as a ragtag, misfit group of legends but today the "Dogtown" nostalgia is still alive and a new generation continue to create their own community and their own mark all around the world. Here in Cape Town, South Africa, the home of High Horse has its own Dogtown culture to which we like to think we belong. We are the type of people that are not focused on fame and money, it's about family support and the street dreams that are born from a "ride or die" attitude to success. Us "Cowboys" go through life without fear, the wild west is a haven to a local of this nature. The Dogtown riders collection include signet rings, which are a sign of belonging and achievement, as well as bolo ties, and sharks teeth.
